FUNCTION OF THE JOB:

The Stewardship Coordinator is responsible for managing and administering the Foundation’s portfolio of scholarship funds. To improve the donor and recipient experience, the Stewardship Coordinator continuously evaluates the Foundation’s scholarship program identifying opportunities for growth and excellence. The Stewardship Coordinator will work with development and stewardship areas of the Foundation to build relationships with donors, recipients, and College departments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain, evaluate, and promote the Foundation’s annual scholarship application process.
  2. Recruit and train scholarship selection committee members.
  3. Facilitate and oversee the scholarship selection committees’ responsibilities, assuring regulatory compliance, eligibility requirements, and policy.
  4. Maintain the Foundation’s scholarship software including updates, implementation, and user’s experience.
  5. Create awareness of the scholarship program with potential donors, prospective recipients and the broader community.
  6. Evaluate the scholarship program on an annual basis.
  7. Support donor management and stewardship activities to improve Foundation donor experiences.
  8. Prepare a variety of documents, reports, and written materials (e.g. individual awards, invitations, event programs, newsletters, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to donors and students.
  9. Supervise and train work-study personnel; assist other personnel in cross-departmental activities.
  10. Maintain the Raisers Edge database of donors and potential donors including creating donor profiles, updating current donor information, and conducting research on prospective donors.
  11. Present scholarship opportunities at all student orientations.
  12. Organize, plan, assist, and coordinate preparations for various fundraising activities and events.
  13. Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Must understand and support the mission of the community college.
  2. Must be able to communicate by phone and email on a daily basis.
  3. Must be able to operate office equipment proficiently.
  4. Must be able to work in a team environment.
  5. Must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and database management.
  6. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear manner to a variety of audiences.
  7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy required.
  8. Excellent analytical, administrative, computer and problem-solving skills.
  9. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.

PERSONAL INTERACTION:

Frequent interaction and personal contact with all levels of College personnel, community leaders, business executives, facilitators, the general public, students, and outside organizations (usually the first line of communication).

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Functional supervision is exercised over designated College work-study personnel.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree with two to three years of professional experience with program development and management or equivalent education and experience required. Must have effective oral and written communication skills to interact with a broad spectrum of constituencies including donors, Foundation Board members, staff members, volunteers and scholarship recipients. Must have experience with web-based software used to manage program applications and the ability to complete multiple assignments within provided time constraints with minimal supervision. Strong customer service with demonstrated ability to build and steward relationships.

TORT LIABILITY STATEMENT:

Coordinates the College Risk Management Program in a capacity appropriate to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring conditions, events and circumstances present through daily College operations, and communicating observations to the appropriate supervisor or taking necessary actions to correct, prevent or limit safety problems. May serve as a member of a committee that supports the health, safety and/or legal rights of visitors, students and staff.
