TITLE:Impact Program Director
SUPERVISED BY:Vice President of Advancement
FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
Highly responsible position which oversees the development and implementation of the Impact Program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the Impact Program implement the program’s mission, and develop and monitor strategic goals and objectives.
- Serve as the spokesperson to represent the Impact Program in local, regional, and national networks. Promote the vision, purpose, and strategic goals of the Impact Program by attending community and professional meetings; making presentations at City meetings, including, but not limited to, City Council meetings, boards, and various community meetings.
- Oversee budgeting of all aspects of the Impact Program department.
- Engage in donor stewardship by providing program updates to donors.
- Work in collaboration with the VP of Advancement to ensure funding models are accurate.
- Lead, develop and maintain an outreach and marketing plan and be responsible for engaging students, parents, and school administrators about the various components of the Impact Program.
- Work closely with the identified Impact Program partners to support the administration of the program, from design and set up of the application process to disbursement of awards.
- Ensure the effective coordination among partners and all program components to align all aspects of the Impact Program goals and objectives, including school-based strategies and communications, scholarship management and distribution, college bridge programs, and college persistence efforts to ensure students have optimal support to and through college.
- Oversee the creation, beta testing, and execution of the Impact Program Application and web portal in collaboration with Information Technology partners.
- Establish the involvement of business and community leaders and others to push forward the goals of the Impact Program.
- Create and manage the nonprofit/service organizations database to coordinate community service opportunities across the Sauk Valley Community College district.
- Communicate effectively with the Board of Trustees and Foundation Board of Directors to provide the information that they need to function properly and make informed decisions. Develop and present an annual report to the Board of Trustees and Foundation Board of Directors with information regarding the program’s progress, including, but not limited to, enrollment numbers, scholarships offered and planned, expenditures, and scholarship fund growth.
- Report quarterly on the development and programmatic achievements to the Impact Program partners and community.
- Manage, evaluate, and supervise volunteers including providing training and development.
- Must understand and support the mission of the community college.
- Must be able to communicate effectively by phone and email on a daily basis.
- Must be able to provide and understand verbal/visual information from supervisors and to local community area personnel and general public.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Must be able to operate office equipment proficiently.
- Must have bookkeeping and budgeting skills.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
Frequent interaction and personal contact with all levels of College personnel, community leaders, business executives, facilitators, the general public, students, and outside organizations.
Administrative and functional supervision over the Impact Program Coordinator.
A Master’s degree in business administration, organizational development, public/non-profit administration, marketing/business, non-profit management or a closely-related field. A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience in the areas of nonprofit coordination, business administration, public administration, education or a closely-related field, including verifiable experience working with community, education, private sector and public sector decision makers; and performing public relations duties. In addition, the successful candidate must have the ability to foster productive collaborations between the Impact Program and donors (both individual and corporate), higher education, and community supporters; develop and implement new policies; analyze problems, exercise independent judgment within general policy guidelines, and adopt an effective course of action under stressful conditions; apply judgment and knowledge of the program’s philosophy, short- and long-term objectives, resources, policies, procedures, and professional standards to plan and organize activities. The selected candidate should have knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources; principles and methods for promoting services; and public policy, resources, programs and community organizations in the areas of education and college readiness.
TORT LIABILITY STATEMENT:
Coordinates the College Risk Management Program in a capacity appropriate to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring conditions, events and circumstances present through daily College operations, and communicating observations to the appropriate supervisor or taking necessary actions to correct, prevent or limit safety problems. May serve as a member of a committee that supports the health, safety and/or legal rights of visitors, students and staff.
