TITLE:

PASS Facilitator

FUNCTION OF THE JOB:

The PASS Facilitator is responsible for implementing the mission and goals of the partnership work between area PreK-12 districts, the ROE, outside agencies, and the college. The PASS Facilitator will supervisor all activities related to these partnerships, update college personnel as needed, work to obtain grant funding to support the partnership, and work with other agencies to create a seamless transition for students into college.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS SUMMIT

  1. Plan and implement annual College & Career Readiness Summit in conjunction with ROE 47
    1. Marketing (Flyer, Agenda, Teacher Talk, etc.)
    2. Recruit speakers, set up contracts, etc.
    3. Establish agenda
    4. Prepare budget and pay all bills
    5. Follow up with book distribution
    6. Recruit breakout facilitators as needed
    7. All things necessary for event
  2. Present to Board of Trustees as requested to update program knowledge
  3. Monitor available grants for application to PASS work and write/submit as applicable (This work can be written into the grant if awarded.)
    1. Serve as fiscal agent for any grants awarded
    2. Submit reports to granting agency
    3. Work with CFO to establish budgets

TRANSITIONAL COURSEWORK

  1. Reach out to all HS and gather MOUs for transitional math and transitional ELA
    1. Follow up to gather signatures from SVCC, ROE, School
    2. Archive MOUs
  2. Update Advisor sheet with current TM and TELA schools
  3. Host TM & TELA day-long meetings twice yearly to provide updates, support for teachers, review and revise curriculum, etc. to stay in alignment with State
  4. Meet with SVCC Advisors to update them on Transitional Coursework
  5. Cohost/Plan/Implement statewide TELA &TM Summits (grant work)
    1. Marketing (Flyer, Agenda, Teacher Talk, etc.)

    4. Prepare budget and pay all bills
    5. Follow up with book distribution if applicable

PATHWAY ENDORSEMENT

  1. Work with ROE 47 to implement new pathways and recruit high schools to established ones
    1. Attend Manufacturing and Health Sciences meetings
    2. Serve as resource for dual credit
  2. Participate in joint ROE programs associated with grant funds.
    1. Education Symposium
    2. Pathway Playground
    3. ISBE IWAS training
  3. Coordinate summer training as needed
  4. Meet with SVCC Advisors to update them on Pathway work and currency offered by SVCC

ROE PARTNERSHIP WORK

  1. Act as liaison between the college and PreK-12/ROE initiatives. Provide information, training, attend meetings, et al as needed.
  2. Attend Principal and Supt meetings as needed to report on work

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Must support and understand the mission of the community college.
  2. Must have excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  3. Must have the ability to relate positively to students, families, school personnel, community organizations, staff, and supervisors.
  4. Must be able to provide verbal/visual presentations to local community areas, institutions, and the general public.
  5. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  6. Must be able to communicate effectively by phone and email on a daily basis.
  7. Must be able to work with Microsoft Office products.
  8. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.

PERSONAL INTERACTION:

Frequent contact is made with all levels of College personnel, students, and outside organizations in relation to routine departmental services and duties in providing appropriate assistance and information as requested.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Education (Master’s degree preferred) in administration, curriculum, adult education, student services, or related field.

TORT LIABILITY STATEMENT:

Coordinates the College Risk Management Program in a capacity appropriate to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring conditions, events and circumstances present through daily College operations, and communicating observations to the appropriate supervisor or taking necessary actions to correct, prevent or limit safety problems. May serve as a member of a committee that supports the health, safety and/or legal rights of visitors, students and staff.
