2023-24 Cost of Attendance (COA)

The following figures reflect survey data that determines your cost of attending SVCC for the 2023-24 academic year. Your indirect educational costs are based on your own circumstances, and can vary from student to student. Depending on your situation and major, your direct educational costs may be higher or lower than those presented below. All budgets are based on 32 weeks / 9 months.

The following figures are based on current tuition and fee rates for 30 credit hours (15 per semester).

Summer COA is either 4 or 8 weeks in length and is prorated from the 32-week COA based on appropriate the number of weeks.

Rationale

Tuition and Fees ($5,190.00)
Based on 30 credit hours multiplied by tuition of $147.00 per credit hour, student activity fee of $16.00 per credit hour, plus an additional $300.00 lab fees ($150.00 per semester) .
Food and Housing ($10,233.00)
Based on average fair market rent data and average grocery cost from the five counties within SVCC’s district.
Books, Course Materials, Supplies, and Equipment ($1,460.00)
Based on the national average from College Board data. 
Transportation ($3,000.00)
Allows for average driving distance of 30 miles per day (roundtrip) for 80 days per semester, multiplied by the current Illinois mileage reimbursement rate.
Miscellaneous Expenses ($2,430.00)
Based on the national average provided from College Board data.

*The Books, Course Materials, Supplies, and Equipment component of the COA can be increased upon personal request and submission of documentation of a rental or purchase of a computer. 

* For students enrolled in programs that require professional licensure, certification, or a first professional credential, the COA will include an allowance for the costs of obtaining the license, certification, or credential in the final year of their program.

*For students receiving Direct Loans or loans under any other federal student loan program, the COA will include fees required to receive the loans.
