Purpose:
Whiteside Area Career Center provides a range of career and technical education programs. The goal of WACC is to educate students and help them become successful.
Remarks:
Programs are available to high school students, Sauk Valley Community College students, and adults in the community. Through the programs offered at WACC, students learn skills leading to high-wage, high-skill, or high-demand occupations and gain work experience to acquire entry level jobs after graduation or prepare for further education and training. Community and business leaders support WACC as they articulate further training through community colleges, technical schools, and apprenticeships. WACC offers career pathway programs in criminal justice, food services, welding and machine trades, building trade, health occupations, drafting and CAD, auto services, graphic arts, child care, information technology, computer repair, and many more.
