SVCC Theatre Presents

"The Glass Menagerie"

by Tennessee Williams

Join us as we continue Sauk's anniversary celebration! In 1970 The Little Theatre, now the Jerry Weston Mathis Theatre, opened with a production of Williams' Summer and Smoke. 45 years later, we continue this tradition with the presentation of William's classic American play, The Glass Menagerie.

Set in St. Louis in the late 1930's, The Glass Menagerie focuses on the Wingfield family: the matriarch, Amanda, her painfully shy daughter, Laura, and her adventure seeking son, Tom. Narrated by Tom, this play tells of several weeks in this family's life when the potential of a gentleman caller for Laura was at the center of their lives and Tom's patience for his mother's meddling was on the brink of explosion.
