Go Skyhawks! - Fear the Feathers

2022 Women's Tennis Team Outlook

The Skyhawk women’s tennis team has four returning players from last year’s NJCAA Region Runner Up and national qualifying team. They are Saryn Seeley who played #2 singles and #1 doubles, Kenzie Hubbard who played #3 singles and #3 doubles, Olivia Pitkin who played #6 singles and #3 doubles, and Roquelle Penaflor who didn’t see a lot of playing time last year but will be #6 singles and #3 doubles this year. Team members not returning are Sydney Schott , Meghan Vanburen/Fassler and Lexi Sneek who all were an instrumental part of the Skyhawks qualifying for Nationals not only last year but 2020 as well.

New faces for the tennis team this year are from Dixon are Chloe Coil who will be playing #1 doubles and #2 singles, and from Sterling Madison Hubbs who will be playing #5 singles and #2 doubles and Lindsey Johnson who will be playing #7singles and from Newman is Cecilia Sagel who will be playing #8 singles respectively for the Skyhawks this season.

We belong to the NJCAA Region 4 and it is very competitive to participate in. We have been working very hard on and off the season to sharpen our skills. Our team goal is to place in the top three at regionals and qualify for the National tournament. Along with the team goal each individual will have their own goal to place in the top three in each of their flights. I believe the Skyhawks will need to build a team chemistry and maintain a positive attitude to have a successful season and achieve their goals.  I am looking forward my 31st year as the Skyhawk tennis coach.
