Prairie State

Game 1: 

The Skyhawks opened up their home opener with a 1-0 lead earned in inning 2.  Prairie State bounced back and added 1 of their own in the 4th and 3 in the top of 6th.  Taking a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the 6th inning, the Skyhawks again with a no quit attitude went to work.  The Skyhawks added 3 of their own.  2 coming off the rbi double by Austin Sandrock to cut it to 4-3.  The very next pitch Matt Makarwich shot the game tying double down the left field line to score Sandrock from 2nd base.  The Skyhawks took a 4-4 game into the top of the 7th where Grant Wasson held PSC scoreless.  Wasson now 1-1 on the year on the mound.  In the bottom of the 7th Austin Miller got his lone hit of the game to get a runner on base with 1 out for the Skyhawks.  Luke Olson added his lone hit as well to make it first and third with 1 out.  Then with 2 outs Larson Barnett shot a single down the right field corner to walk it off for the Skyhawks.  The comeback and walk off was complete.  Great Team win by the Skyhawks.  


Game 2: 

Austin Miller made his presence known during the series Finale with Prairie State College.  Austin got the start on the mound going 5 innings allowing 4 hits 2 runs and striking out 3 batters and collecting his first win of the young season, now 1-0.  Austin also added 2 doubles and 3 rbis during this game.  Austin finished 3-3 3 rbis and the win on the mound.  10 Skyhawks collected a hit in the series finale and got to 10 runs quick off a first inning barrage for 8 runs from the offense.  For such a cold day with the wind howling in, the Skyhawks bats were loud.  Great team win and break out game for Austin Miller.
