Sports Officiating 101

Become a softball and/or baseball umpire. This opportunity is designed to prepare students for umpiring softball and/or baseball at the high school and youth levels. This class will address professionalism, conflict resolution, communication skills, rules knowledge, game acquisition, mental training, and on field practice.  With over 30 years of coaching and umpiring experience, the instructor will prepare you for an exciting and fulfilling part time job of working with young athletes on local ball diamonds.  Your training includes field work, videos, guest speakers, reading and observation assignments, and online assessmentsThis class will prepare students to sit for the IHSA softball and/or baseball umpire exam. (Ages 15 & Up)


(16 sessions), Mondays and Wednesdays, June 19 – August 16 (no class 7/3 & 7/5); 6:00-7:30PM
